Eye Spy.......my new favourite blog(s)!

I'm back! Again participating in the Cindy's Eye Spy Sunday (on a Monday). This weeks theme is thanks to One Red Robin.

I have a real problem with blog reading - I'm hooked on it! I have hundreds and hundreds of blogs on my reader and if I don't read regularly it turns into a real disaster! BUT I can't stop, its hard to unsubscribe so usually I don't. I do however get many brilliant, awesome and excellent ideas from all these blogs and I love the insight into other peoples lives.

I am always finding new blogs to read. Reading one blog that links to another and another - whats a girl to do?! Here are just a few of my more recent finds....

Operation Organise

Since I returned home from my lovely, relaxing trip away over the Christmas/New Years period I have decided to do some major reorganisation around the house. We have a lot of 'stuff' we just don't need anymore - or never needed to begin with....hahaha. As this house is only small I need all the extra space I can get!

On the first day of 'Operation Organise' I began with the Office/Craft Room.

This room does become a 'dumping ground' for a lot of things unfortunately. Thankfully we have recently added two double door cupboards to the room that has given me a lot more storage and things that were sitting around on shelves and the (ahem...) floor are now nicely stored away. Notice I didn't say neatly - well that's because it is not all that neat at the moment. OK, not really true. It is kind of neat but the arrangement of things could be a little better and I do have a couple of 'gotta sort that out later' boxes in there too. You know, those little things that just don't have a place to go - yet. I'm working on it. I also need to tidy and sort out the things on top of the cupboard but being short I can overlook that for a little while. Some other small things like cleaning out the plastic drawers need to be done too - I'm going to use them to store the kids craft things (e.g.: pencils, paints, paper, etc.) Currently they are full of 'need to file' papers and the like. Over all the room is much better and much more usable too. I'm loving that I can sew when ever I like as 'my craft space' and neat and tidy.

Day two on 'Operation Organise' was a little less productive. I did get some major cleaning done though which I guess will help in the long run. The bathroom/toilet got a good scrub, the entire house got a through vacuum and the wet areas got a through mop. I reorganised the toys in the lounge room a little better too. Other than that I folded and put away clothes, did 3 loads of washing (including the couch covers), did dishes, organised dinner, went for a walk and scrapped - again!

Today is day three of 'Operation Organise'. The Twins have just gone done for a sleep so on today list we have:

* Firstly, go and jump in a shower while I can!!
* Reorganise the hallway linen closet/storage cupboard done this morning :) !!
* Clean and reorganise the kitchen cupboards (next on the list after I'm finished here)
* Fold the washing and put away

If I get time:

* Sort and organise my sewing print outs (patterns etc.) and my loose recipes in the folders I have purchased for this job.

That is probably something I can do tonight while I watch TV I guess.

I better get moving! These things won't do themselves and I need to get as much done while 'my helpers' are sleeping.

I'll leave you with a page I scrapped last night. (I don't know if I am completely finished with this but thought I would show you anyway. I'm also in the process of doing a similar one for Zach.)

(Credits to come)

P.S I'll also add, check out Works for me Wednesday over at Rocks In My Dryer! I'm a regular reader of this and there are always some great hints, tips and ideas with Mr Linky. One day I might even be able to participate!

God is definitely GREAT!

Mckmama has given birth, Baby Stellan is here! I am totally stunned at the outcome of this saga. After all the problems, the tears, the worries, Stellan will live! He is happy and healthy and even rooming in with his amazing Mummy!

You have to go check out her blog! Read back over the story if you need to, then you will definitely agree. GOD is GREAT!

Busy busy and an idea for Christmas

Today is going to be hectic -

2 loads of clothes to fold and put away
2 loads of nappies to fold and put away
2 loads of towels to fold and put away
2 loads of sheets to - you guessed it! - fold and put away
Dishes to be done
At least 3 loads of washing to be done - and that doesn't include the nappies that need washing
Toys to tidy
Wood to get - because yesterday it was soooo HOT and today it SOOO COLD!
A fire to light
Twins need to go down for a sleep
Dinner to prepare

That's just a few things......
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On another topic because housework really isn't exciting me right now....

I found a new blog - well new to me - and I just love it! Thank you to Belinda over at Renovate + Decorate (and also Mini Meez!) for putting me onto it!

Little Brown Pen - loving this blog!

On here I found a fab idea for a Christmas pressie for those that require a pressie but are not close so you won't put a lot of thought into it - do you know what I mean? I hope so, hope that didn't come out all wrong...

Check this out!

Flower Washcloth, Scraps and Things
Fresh Baked Bread Soap, Sun Basil Garden
(These are just examples)

Simple and easy. I'll be knitting up the washcloths myself and if I have time I will make the soap. Otherwise I'll head down to a little local store I know and buy some delicious little ones!

This is.....My favourite Film

Currently ......

Juno was a film that really hit home for me. As many of you may know I had my first daughter at 15 years old. Even though I made the decision to keep my daughter - for me there was no other option - this film really did have quite a parallel to my life. School was hard, I was on my own, my parents (eventually - if you are a parent you could image what it was like for my mum!) were supportive. I never did give any thought to the adoption process but can totally understand why a lot of young parents do.

Thank you to Hokey for this weeks theme and make sure you check out our host - Angela is a totally crafty lady - thanks for hosting!

Love Fridays!

Like my new template?! I love it! Thank you Allie!

I hope Allie doesn't mind but I had to make one small adjustment to it in Photoshop (just viewed it on another screen and may need to make one more slight change) as it wasn't full screen and even after following her instructions I still couldn't get it to work! (Allie please let me know if this is not ok). I will give total credit for this layout to Allie as it is all her work. Go check her blog out, she has HEAPS of stunning back grounds and they are all free!

Still playing around with the blog design today so don't be alarmed if you have arrived here and it looks a little weird ... hahaha.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also HELP NEEDED!! I can not for the life of me get my Post titles any bigger. I have tried to play around with a few different things, it begins to load bigger then it just goes small again. Is anyone out there able to help me?? Or do you know someone that may be able to help me?? I want my post titles bigger! PLEASE PLEASE HELP! ----- OK SCRAP THAT, I WORKED IT OUT!

One more for Luck

Three post in one morning - I'm on a roll!

I finally got my dungarees sewn up - still need to put the snaps on the crotch and sewn on the buttons. On my to do list once (I've showered) the twins go down for a sleep. So I'll give you a bit of a look at my little creation...

The covered buttons I will be sewing on today. I'm going to have to go to spotlight and see if I can find a kit to buy. The ones I got from the Op Shop are pretty old so I'm not sure if they still make them - surely they do.

These are next up. Sitting patiently waiting to sewn into life....

And then its onto some t-shirts and shorts for summer before the kids grow out of all of their clothes! The weather has really warmed up lately!

Alright, I'm little ones have been neglected enough....hehe. Time to g and play! Come back soon for Not Me Monday!

My very first Tag(s)

I'm tagged!! Twice!

Thank you to Melissa and my lovely daughter Ashlee for my very first tags.

Now onto business...

The rules are simple:
  • Link to the person who tagged you.
  • Post the rules on your blog.
  • Write Six Random Things about yourself.
  • Tag six-or-so other people at the bottom of the post.
  • Leave comments on their blogs, letting them know they've been tagged!
  • Let the person who tagged you know when you've written the post.
My six random things:

1. I HATE mornings! I hate having to get up at the crack of dawn! The only thing that makes it bearable is that I'm getting up with my super cute little ones.

2. I usually don't get dressed until the twins go down for a sleep at 11am (is that terrible?). This when I shower etc.) Unless of course someone is coming over or we have to go out. So if you choose to come over unannounced on any given day you will get to see my lovely PJ's!

3. I have a 'way' to hang my washing and really can't stand people helping me as they never do it 'my way'! I then have to go and fix it.

4. I want to knit. Every time I have tried it has been a flunk (until of course Saturday night when I finally aced it it!)

5. I REALLY want more children but I'm not allowed :( Brett was happy with just the two children then we were blessed with double trouble.

6. I had my first daughter, my pride and joy, at the tender age of 15.

I hope that is random enough for you as that is all I could think of at 10am (still in my PJ's).

Now who will I tag.....

The lovely and inspiring CurlyPops!
Also Kootoyoo too!
Then I'm going to tag Ingrid over at Lottielulu
Fallen from Grace as well because I read her blog regularly
A twin mummy and super crafter Retromummy
And last but not least MissyMuh - love her blog!

So consider yourself tagged ladies!

This is.......My current reading material + Its my very FIRST!

My reading time is pretty hard to come by at the moment and most of the time the only reading that I get to do is keeping up with my blog reading. I just love all you guys so much (and those are just a few) that I just have to make time!

Thank you to My Champagne Dreams for this weeks theme and thanks to Angela at Three Buttons for hosting This Is.

It's love....

Hello World! Just a short post as the wee ones are heading my way - I think they have sussed me in office...

I have totally and utterly fallen head over heels for Wise Craft and All buttoned up !. Wow this lady can sew! Just take a look at this and this! That last one is such a great idea, the concept I'm considering using on a few old t-shirts to spice them up abit. And I'm sure Brett will part with some of his old t-shirts that he hasn't worn in like - 6 years! And just her photos make me wanna sit down and read for hours! Like I don't have enough blogs I read...hahaha. They are both truely inspiring to me and have some lovely ideas.

Another site I found recently and wanted to share is Cut Out + Keep . Just an abundence of wonderful ideas and patterns. You really have to check it out. Alot of it is ideas for re-fashioning your wardrobe and making things. I spent at least an hour on it last night. Those jeans and Brett's work pants that I have been meaning to take up may just get done now that I found a few hints on this site!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On another note - Mitchell and myself made doughnuts today!! They totally flunk in the visual sense but taste great. I learned a few things while cooking these ones and I'm sure the next batch (when I buy more flour - I've run out!) will be even better.

But the cooking will have to wait until we return. Tomorrow we are back off to the lovely Victoria. Sale infact. Anna has her dreaded eye appointment at 10:50am tomorrow so we will be on the road at about 5am! Its about a 4 1/2 hour drive plus a stop for the kiddes on the way. Probably about Cann River. Ashlee is in Canberra with Nanny so its just the 5 of us and Ashlee doesn't have to be on her own in the 'boot' - hehe (We have an 8 seater Prado).

Ok, spotted - better run. Wish us luck! I'm not looking forward to what the Dr has to say :(

Just to confuse everyone

I have decided to change the name of my blog .... sorry Mel!

I am having a little dabble in Digital Scrapbook designing and I going to start up a new blog for that that will include links to freebies etc but I would like them both to have a similar name and I have come up with one that I like. Not giving it away now but watch out in the next few days! There will be a bit of a change. I don't think you will have to change any links you have or anything so hopefully it won't be any effort for you.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Today we (being me and Mitchell) decided to do some cooking and cook we did! Had an absolute blast but still trying to clean up after it ... haha. We cooked a yummy Vanilla cake with White Chocolate Frosting and yummy vanilla cream in the middle (sprinkled with Cocoa of course!). Next up was some Double Choc Chip Cookies and some Plain Choc Chip Cookies. Do you know that out of the 20 cookies we baked there are only 5 left!! The culprit will surface I'm sure when they start to feel ill. Thankfully I was able to devour the second peice of the YUMMY cake - yes the second! I'm shocked to, usually I'm left the crumbs!
What else, ahh yes. We made some super duper yummy sausage rolls too! SOOO much nicer than any store brought ones too. The kids devoured them for dinner, well not all of them but most of them. There are some left over to pack as lunches tomorrow. I was totally shocked that Zach, my Mister Fussy won't eat anything little boy, could eat an entire one fast enough! He loved them! I know what I will be making more of again soon. Anna was not so keen but she hasn't been keen on much food all day so I think she might be feeling a little off.

We have plans tomorrow to do some more baking and I really need to crack down and get some new nappies cut out ready to sew up. These two little ones are not so little anymore and are growing out of all thier medium sizes. Thankfully I have a lot of AbbyGro One Size so I'm safe there. I'm really looking forward to getting back into my sewing now that things have settles down after the move! Righty, better head off and finish cleaning up. Hopefully get some photos up of cooking adventures tomorrow.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lastly sending out some Hugs and Kisses to Mum, don't work to hard ok! Make sure you have some time for yourself. Looking forward to seeing you soon!

Not happy Jan!

(you know, the Telstra ad. I guess you will only get that if you are in Australia)

I have just spent a few hours (in between other things) designing and tweaking a lovely page of my beautiful daughter Ashlee and after all my hard work I didn't even think to save it. Now.....Photoshop has frozen, damn! I think I may have lost it all - So, not happy Jan! There is a small chance that it may start working again, which I really hope it does, but for now I think I may just have to come to terms with the fact that I have to start all over again. Don't you hate that!

Oh well, I guess I really should be heading to bed anyway. Mum and Melissa are now here, YIPPEE and I have a lot of packing to get done tomorrow.

A few more things though, you know how I told you about Baby Stellan over at Mckmama's Blog. Well, she has some wonderful news up on her blog......super super wonderful! Head on over and have a read! And...another wonderful story for you to take a look at. Head on over to The Life of Us. There you will find another wonderful miracle for a precious unborn bubba. All these wonderful happenings have reduced me to tears at times, but I guess that all our prayers are really paying off!

Lastly, just to lift my spirits (and yours if they need lifting!) here is a little bit of cuteness for you.....good night!

For you '4 little men'

I was just reading 4 little men's blog and she was asking about bellies - pregnant ones. So I thought I would add a little pic on here for her, HI!

This was taken at 28 weeks with the twins, just before I was admitted to hospital in labour and about a week before I had them....

And here is one when I was 15 weeks pregnant (and loving it!).....

I can only imagine how big I was going to get if I went the further 11 weeks that my OB was planning to let me go!

What have I learnt?? Edited...

Well I have looked around Pioneer Woman's site a bit and read over some of her tut's regarding photography and photoshop. I decided I would have a go at shooting on manual with my little baby: The Canon 400D. I've had a bit of a play in the past but really have tended to stay with the Auto setting, but that doesn't always give the best shots either. So I played with ISO setting and pretty much everything else a bit to see what she could do. The bad part is that I was shooting inside in terrible light but I also had my ISO speed up to high when I got the best expressions from our little truckie training. Below is a SOOC (Straight out of Camera) shot....

Its not to bad but I found that it did look quite grainy and also a bit dull and dark (not to bad for my first go). So I thought I would have try out some of Pioneer Woman's tips and see what I could do with it.

Firstly I added an action or two (I won't go into detail as I'm still learning and really don't know what I'm talking about ... lol!). Then just played with the curves and levels a bit. After that I added a burnt edge action and this is the result ..... (oh I also cropped it tighter)

I also had to add a bit of blur as the grainy-ness (is that a word?) was really showing through. Not to bad for a first try. Although inbetween hanging out washing, feeding, changing and playing with our twin bubs , organising two 4 year olds and doing the dishes - it has taken me pretty much all day! lol!

I thought I would try a bit of a different effect on this one as well. A slightly vintage effect I think it was - see I really don't know what I'm talking about! Or I guess you could just call it a wash out.

Before I go and do the school pick up - see I started this post at 10am and its now 3:10pm! - I thought I would just show you one more. Here is the SOOC....

And here is my edit. Think it looks any better?

On this one I ran a vintage action and an edge burn action then just played with the curves and levels again to get the desired result. I also did a bit of a crop on this one too. It really brightened up the photo. I couldn't really go colour on this one as it was another were the ISO setting was to high and it was really dark. When I brightened it up in colour it became extremely grainy and looked wrong. Anyone out there a whizz at Photoshop and have any tips for me? I'd love to hear them!

Better ran, Ashlee won't pick herself from school nor will the milk and bread walk home from the shop on thier own .. lol.

Take care!Just adding one more pic - ?? Now that I look at it, I actually look really goofy! LOL!!!!

LOOK what I found!

Are you into Photography, Photoshop or maybe cooking or home renovation and decoration? Or do you just like reading a great blog with lots of humor?

While doing my usual evening blog hopping I happened across an absolutely amazing blog/website!

(Please do ask me where I found it, I read so many blogs last night that I really lost track.) Anyway, my personal opinion is that this is one of the most amazing websites I have ever come across. It has (almost) everything I need! I say almost because it lacks just one thing, scrapbooking .... lol! The photography on this site is just stunning. I love the photos from the ranch and the gorgeous shots of the kids (among others). Also if a shot just needs that little bit tweaking, she has a whizz at Photoshop, Lightroom, CS3 (please correct me if I'm wrong) that gives you tuts on how to 'fix' em'! Here are a couple of shots that I LOVE!

Aren't they stunning?!! (Well the photos on here don't them justice!)

Her excellent give aways - generous! Her posts about the 'ranch' house they are 'doing up'. Well to be honest they are just 'doing it up', they have basically gutted it and started again but it looks - WOW! Can I live there??!!

I WANT THIS KITCHEN!!

Or you can just pop over to her Confessions and have a little read and sometimes a chuckle.

Oh did I mention she cooks too! Look at these little numbers....

Ok, I'm not showing you anymore - head on over to her site and check it out, you WILL NOT regret it!

Take care everyone!

I can wish

I visit Belinda's blog ~ Renovate + Decorate ~ regularly. She is such an inspiration! Her house is stunning and on top of that she is a writer and web editor for Real Living Magazine as well as taking care of 2 children. Her posts recently have really caught my eye as she has just last month delivered a healthy baby girl and a lot of her posts have been children orientated. Go and take at look at some of her beautiful pictures. ** I WILL one day have a house like that! ** Maybe when the kids move out ... LOL!

Anyway, this brings me to the reason for this post.....recently she posted some photos of items that are for sale on the Real Livings shop ~ RealShopping ~ I fell in love. Although most of the prices are a little out of my price range I'm sure I can justify a few little things here and there to give my house the WOW factor.

A couple of things that I would to incorporate into my decorating in the new house are...

This stunning 'Seatulip' Cushion Cover

This colourful 'Strossel' Cushion Cover

I quite like this little print 'Pink Fireline' Artwork

And the kids clothes!!! ....

These ADORABLE little 'Oobi' 1950's Party dresses ~
They would be perfect for my little girl ..... dreaming again.

Also loving this cute little 'Nika & Mink' Rose Quartz Bracelet

Ok, so its REALLY late now and I MUST get to bed. So be sure to take a look at Belinda's Blog and also her other blog Mini Meez! May be even check out Real Living too.

I'll leave you with a recent Layout. This one is especially for my brother, Dan and his new wife (and my new sister-in-law ~ yippee!) Melissa. It took a few years but Dan's persistance paid off at last when he finally married the woman of his dreams!

{ At Last }

Night Night everyone ....
